Republicans Tell Owensboro Kids; Just Don't Get Sick.

Today, Republicans won a battle for the insurance companies and against child care for Owensboro as well as elsewhere.  “We won this round on SCHIP,” White House press secretary Dana Perino said after a vote of  273 -156, 16 votes short of the necessary 2/3. Kentucky Congressmen voted along party lines. Owensboro's Representatives chose to honor their political contributors. Democrats will not back down and will insist on providing health care coverage to the 10 million children.”
What's so disturbing is that it contradicts the wishes of the people they allegedly represent. Americans clearly expressed their concerns but the Republicans clearly said that they don't care. But what's even more disturbing than not listening to the polls of the people, is the distortion and smear tactics that the Bush administration is so well known for. The thing to remember is that Mr. 24% isn't running again but our Kentucky Representatives are.

Last night on MSNBC’s Countdown with Keith Olberman, Brian and Dara Wilkerson — the parents of 2 yr-old SCHIP recipient Bethany — responded to the right-wing attacks that have been made against them. Brian said the family decided to speak out simply to help other families in similar situations:

The attacks on SCHIP and Graeme Frost by Republican Spokesghoul Michelle Malkin was on The Countdown and Keith Olbermann calls out Republican Sen. Mitch McConnell and his staffer for their now-”retracted” e-mail hackery and talks with the New York Times’ Paul Krugman about the new attacks launched against toddler and SCHIP recipient, Bethany Wilkerson.

The Republicans Representatives have not been content with simply using their attack machine. They seem to have a hard time making an argument without implementing their spin tactics, hoping to imply that the Democrats objectives were not for American families in need of insurance. Rep. King’s new name for SCHIP

Today on the House floor, Rep. Steve King (R-IA) introduced a new name for the acronym SCHIP — “Socialized Clinton-style Hillarycare for Illegals and their Parents”--------Okay, I'm not an adamant Hillary fan but this is simply exploiting the situation for a cheap shot at the top Democratic presidential contender. The truth is that SCHIP does not cover undocumented immigrants.

Nice job Andy. Looks like ur getting that html down pretty good but if you drop me an email I can give you a few pointers. I don't agree with you 100% but you do a good job in ur presentation and you back it up well. LOL, it isn't like you democrats don't take any opportunity to slam a republican if you can. Like Carl Rove says, fair game.

Thanks for some good research on this Andy. I recommend all readers to click on the Krugman and Oldermann link. The brothers keepers statement hits home.
