Owensboro Children Deserve Better Than Ron Lewis

Kentucky Congressman Ron Lewis doesn't seem interested in Kentucky voters or their children. As we know, Lewis voted against extending the SCHIP (State Children's Health Insurance Program) and intends to help George Bush sustain his veto. There's been very little in our Owensboro paper but it's interesting how fellow Kentuckians in Ron's 2nd district feel about this.

Now, it needs to be understood that Bush's veto will not hold up in the Senate but unfortunately, 14 House Republicans stand in the way of over riding the veto. This is why it's so important that we contact our U.S. Representatives and express our views and demand that they serve the voters instead of their political contributors. It's truly a time for Ron to honor the constitutes and step away from the rhetoric and lockstep loyalty he has to the Bush Administration's chase for the money.

I encourage everyone to call Ron and voice your unhappiness with his disregard to us and our children.

Good blog Andy. There is not much coverage on this in Owensboro but it is all over CNN and the net. It is a pretty hot topic and I think it will hurt the republicans.
