McConnell/Lewis Say No to Children's Healthcare

I'm sure that there are many folks that are familiar with the Kentucky KCHIP program.

The Kentucky Children's Health Insurance Program (KCHIP) provides free or low cost health insurance for Kentucky's children.

KCHIP covers everything from checkups to prescriptions, from broken bones to booster shots, eyeglasses, hearing aids, dental care, hospital care and more.

Last week, both houses of Congress passed a bill to expand a popular children's health insurance program that provides health care to underprivileged children in the United States. If enacted, revenue from a proposed increase in cigarette taxes would be used to expand the program's enrollment from 6.6 million children up to 10 million children. The health insurance industry, the American Cancer Society and the American Medical Association have all endorsed this bill.

It is therefore surprising that President Bush has threatened to veto this legislation and has garnered the support of every Republican congressman from Kentucky.

Ron Lewis votes NO to health, dental,

        and eye care for the

Kentucky needy
                                                      Children!

McConnell supports the President (as always) in saying no to the people and yes to the insurance companies.
