It's not rocket science that the Bush/Cheney regime has placed themselves above the law and common decency on several occasions. It seems that our Senator Mitch McConnell, that's basically their lapdog bitch, has evolved into a product of that environment. As long as he can play the "yes man" role to the White House, the more he can toss a few pork barrel coins to quiet the grumbling peasants that will in turn help him retain his seat.

It appears that Mitch, much like Bush, has no shame in the lengths he will go to secure his agenda. Ann Northup has announced her candidacy for her old Congressional seat that she lost to Democrat John Yarmuth in 2006. Northup will have to face Republican challengers Chris Thieneman, a Louisville developer and UPS employee Bob Devore Jr. Thieneman appears to be a well funded and strong candidate and it appears that Mitch has stepped in to help Ann bully Chris to step down.
