Bush ‘disowns’ intelligence estimate on Iran

A senior administration official who accompanied Bush on his six-nation trip to the Mideast stated of Bush "he told the Israelis that he can't control what the intelligence community says, but that [the NIE's] conclusions don't reflect his own views" about Iran's nuclear-weapons program. He  would discuss intelligence matters only on the condition of anonymity, according to Newsweek

I'm wondering why we even need National Intelligence Estimate. If Bush is so pro war and his "own views" overrides facts, it seems like a waste of time and money to me. As mentioned on The Carpetbagger What I can’t quite wrap my head around is the notion that the president has “views” that differ significantly from his own intelligence reports. If the NIE on Iran is based on available evidence, and Bush has decided to “all but disown” the NIE, what, exactly, serves as the basis for his “views”?

Why Mitch McConnell Needs To Go.

A recent ABC News Poll shows that 79% of Americans want a change of course from the next President.
According to ABC News:

NOT BUSH – In the end there’s one thing majorities on both sides agree on, and that’s a
change from George W. Bush’s leadership. Seventy-nine percent of Americans say the
next president should set the nation on a new course rather than following the direction in
which Bush has been leading. (And two-thirds feel that way strongly.)
For the first time this is even more than said so about Bush’s father, 75 percent, the
summer before he was voted out of office in 1992. And it’s vastly more than the most
who ever wanted a new direction after Reagan (58 percent) or Bill Clinton (48 percent).

So, what does this say about this 79%? That they're of a lunatic fringe? That they are defeatist? Disloyal? Seventy nine percent! That's an astronomical number! For so many people of such different backgrounds, different idealizations, different financial levels, age groups, religions, ethnics, social beliefs and more to feel that this administration is not taking this country in the right direction is absolutely disturbing. Even most of the other country's of the world are saying they're happy to see an end of the Bush regime coming.

So, what does this say about our very own Republican Senate Leader Mitch McConnell? Mr McConnell has marched lockstep to George Bush's tune for the last 7 years, refusing to listen to the seventy nine percent that are not happy with the legislation (or lack of) that's been a result of his actions. As of 12-11-07, Mitch has sided with his party 91.8% of the time and has become the biggest obstructionist of legislation in history. Throughout these seven years, Mitch has continued to side with big oil companies in giving them tax breaks, pharmaceuticals by refusing to allow competitive bidding, banks by changing bankruptcy laws, corporations by trying to push though laws to eliminate overtime, Insurance companies by working to change tort laws that would make it unable for victims to sue and also by refusing SCHIP to American children, and Haliburton with no bid contracts while refusing to listen to Americans about their concerns in Iraq. If you look at Mitch's major campaign contributors, you'll find it's oil, pharmaceuticals, banks, insurance, and major corporations.

We all know that Bush and McConnell regime has been anti worker, anti environmentanti constitutional, pro war, anti soldier, pro torture, and obviously and strictly for the wealthy so it's no wonder that 79% want better for themselves and their families. What needs to be known is that Mitch McConnell has been an adamant supporter and has helped George Bush in sending this country down a wrong and dangerous path. Simply put, they both really need to go.
